Young actress Gillian Vicencio pushed back against rumors that she was involved in the controversial split between the revered love team KathNiel.
In a tweet, Gillian pleaded with netizens to not rope her into the issue as there is no truth to the rumor that Daniel Padilla had cheated on Kathryn Bernardo with her.
“Wag niyo po ako idamay dito, hindi po totoo. Bigyan naman po natin sila ng respeto [Please don’t drag me into this, it’s not true. Let’s give them respect],” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) last December 1, 2023.

Gillian’s close friend, DJ Jhai Ho, also defended her on the social media platform and criticized the people spreading the “fake news.”
“FAKE NEWS! Nakakatawa na ngayon naman si GILLIAN naman ang idadawit? Lahat nalang talaga? Actually nakarating saakin to pero Kulang mga character sa another gawa gawang kwento na to!!!! Tigilan niyo si GILLIAN! Nanahimik at walang kaalam alam dinadamay niyo! [It’s laughable that it’s Gillian now that they are dragging into this issue? They’re really blaming everyone? Actually this news reached me but there are missing characters so this is all just hearsay again. Please leave Gillian alone! You are affecting someone who has nothing to do with the situation!]” they said.
They also lauded Gillian for speaking out and clearing her name. “Thats my GIRL!!!! Magsasalita dahil ALAM ang TOTOO! Hindi mananahimik para ipagtanggol ang sarili. HINDI PO TOTOO. Wag niyo idamay tong si Gillian. [Speaking up because she knows what’s true! Unlike others who are keeping quiet just to defend oneself. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Leave Gillian alone.]”

Kathryn and DJ ended their 11-year relationship this year which they only revealed to the public on November 30, 2023. According to Kath’s post, the breakup was done mutually and with respect. Rumors that the cause of their split was DJ’s alleged unfaithfulness began to spread though this has yet to be confirmed. He is also currently being linked to Andrea Brillantes.
