This February, the UP Junior Marketing Association is turning 56. And we’re inviting you to celebrate with us at our biggest birthday yet! Join us at UP JMA Week: The Takeover happening from February 1 – 8, 2014.
The organization is growing and is continuing to age, but its stories live on. Tales of its 56 years of excellence will be remembered and be told. New memories will be made and a new chapter of the JMA story will be written. UP JMA Week: The Takeover will feature a week-long series of innovative events that will show you just what JMA is all about.

This event is dedicated to all those single ladies (and gentlemen) who are looking to have a good time in the season of love. Spend your night in the company of the best stand-up comedy acts in the Metro, and the experts on love and creators of TFTFZ, Jun Sabayton and R.A. Rivera. This is sure to be a go-to event for those singles out there looking to beat the Valentine’s Day blues.

In the UP JMA Week Scavenger Hunt, the five committees of the organization compete against each other in a race with select locations around and outside the Metro. It will definitely be a day of friendly and fierce competition that will feature crazy and fun tasks meant to challenge both the physical and mental abilities of the members.

Take a snap and get linked up with the 6 Degrees Movement! This project is aimed at making the university feel smaller– one photo at a time. After getting your photo taken through the different Scene Stealer photo booths around campus, find your photo at the culminating event and start connecting it to your friends, classmates, former flames– you name it! The culminating event at the Sunken Garden will bring the UP student body together through a night of music featuring popular UP and OPM bands, such as Oh, Flamingo!, The Squibs, and Urbandub.

Then check out the UP JMA Week Gallery! The Gallery is an exhibit where JMA members can showcase their JMA pride. It features the organization’s colorful history, its four thrusts, its structure, its beneficiaries and its members, among others. The Gallery also displays the events organized by JMA, and the achievements it has garnered throughout the years.

Eat until your belly can take no more at the UP JMA Grand Pakain! “GPak,” as the members fondly call it, is an event that aims to give back to Virata School of Business (the college where JMA is based) and the whole university by hosting a feast of flavors and delicacies. This Week 56, the Grand Pakain goes mobile as we go around the university in a food truck in order to make it the biggest and widest “pakain” yet.

Red, black, white! It’s JMA’s night! The UP JMA Culmination Night aims to bring together the members and recent alumni of the organization for a night of celebration toecap off the UP JMA Week. The event pays tribute to the organization, its members, and all their accomplishments throughout the year.
