Free the Sea Movement 2 was held in Baler, Aurora on September 29-October 1, 2017, where the participants were able to have fun at the beach and save it at the same time. What’s different about this coastal cleanup is that clipboards were given to the cleaners so they could segregate them instantly and tally which type of garbage was the most common. Can you guess which garbage was the most common from this year and last year?

The answer: cigarette butts.

Cigarette butts are the most common type of trash collected during these coastal cleanups.

Let these pictures be a reminder for us to be more careful and responsible with our trash. Remember, as the saying goes: “leave nothing but footprints”.

The participants did their best cleaning up and after a job well done, they were rewarded with free surfing lessons and a jamming night party with SoundCloud Philippines’ Ann Clerigo, Banna Harbera, Eazyhead, DJ CC, and DJ Doms Badwolf. A fitting reward for our mother nature’s warriors.
