a big part of success in any training or nutrition program is consistency and adherence. if doing cardio after your workout makes you happy, go for it. you won’t lose all your gains. if zumba is your thing, why not? if you like to pose in between sets ????????, aint nobody gonna stop you ???? if you don’t want to diet at all and just lift, nothing wrong with that either. there is no one magic training program or meal plan that fits all which is why you might as well make it something that you don’t mind doing, especially if you’re trying to make long-term lifestyle changes. … if you enjoy what you’re doing (whether it’s training, nutrition, etc), you’re more likely to actually do it and eventually, you WILL succeed. sure there will still be challenges, but growth and progress are not born out of just staying in your comfort zone. at the end of the day, YOU have to face yourself in the mirror. it’s YOUR life. don’t let anybody tell you how to live it ???????? … screenshot from a training video of sorts that will be going up on sunday maybe ☺️

She blogs over at www.fitme.ph together with her boyfriend Juan Resurreccion of @TheFitJuan (don’t even get me started how they’re giving me serious #relationshipgoals).

What inspired you to begin your fitness journey?

My fitness journey began towards the end of the holiday season 3 years ago. I was a little heavier than I was used to, and although I was already feeling a little fluffy, I felt that it wasn’t settling in the right places. My face was puffy, my stomach distented, but my arms and legs were skinny. I then asked my boyfriend Mico (@thefitjuan) to help me ‘redistribute’ my weight away from my belly to places like my butt and thighs to create shape. So I started going to the gym with him and the rest is history. From that moment on, I’ve been going to the gym 4-6x a week.

that #recomp ???????? forever thankful that i have @thefitjuan in my corner because i’m free to get skinny/fat/shredded/matabuff/bulky/veiny as fuck/etc. without fear of being judged ???? i’ve gotten a lot of DMs from girls who want to try lifting or are already lifting but have gotten comments from people (and significant others) that they’re getting too big or “manly”. that fucking word i swear haha ???????? so here are my thoughts on that topic ???????? 1) i ‘ve said it once but i’ll say it again: strong women only intimidate weak men 2) it takes a long time to build a considerable amount of muscle (monthsss, yearsss) 3) who cares? those same people who hate now will probably ask you for advice in the future so JUST DO YOU, BOO. ???????? #transformationtuesday

What are your go-to gym outfits?

I am always in spandex shorts or compression leggings from Nike or Under Armour. For my tops, I like using dri-fit shirts from Nike and Under Armour as well. The Nike Pro Combat line is my favorite! I like to wear JFIT douche cut tops over colorful sports bras too. I also almost always have a snapback hat on!

For shoes, I have my trusty Converse, Adidas Powerlifts and Nike Frees.

What are 3 tips you can give to people who are just starting to work out?

Tip # 3. Just go for it! Don’t wait until the start of a new month or year, or when you finally have that nice pair of running shoes that you’ve been eyeing. Just sign up and go.

Tip # 2. Don’t be afraid of lifting weights! If you want to put curves on your frame, endless hours on a cardio machine will not make that happen. The same goes for fat loss; if you want to appear leaner or ‘toned,’ lifting weights will help with that. Women have only a fraction of the testosterone of men, so it’s a lot harder for us to build muscle, let alone get huge.

Tip #1. Do what you love and make the process enjoyable. Results take time, so don’t burn yourself out doing something you don’t enjoy. Find something you don’t mind doing often, and the physical changes will follow. If you need any help, feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

#throwback to when i had a bitchin tan ???????????? i loved being this dark ????????
