Fair Trade Run to Promote Local Crafts Industry

The Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CCAP) is proud to announce its first advocacy run, aptly dubbed: TaKKKbo 2017 (Kalikasan, Kababaihan, Kabuhayan). The event is slated for May 13, 2017, in solidarity with the celebration of the World Fair Trade Day.

For 44 years in the Philippines, CCAP has taken huge strides in promoting fair trade to improve to quality of life of handicraft workers, especially those belonging to marginalized rural communities. True to CCAP’s advocacy to promote Fair Trade and livelihood development, proceeds from the event will assist marginalized communities and support the local crafts industry.

By supporting this cause, participants show their solidarity and support to environmental protection, women empowerment, and economic justice.

The race will be held along Roxas Boulevard in Manila City. Categories include 3k, 5k, and 10k. Parents can also join their children in the 500-meter dash making this event, truly, a race for the family to enjoy!
