I have to say, I am very satisfied with my consultation.

 

 

From my past experiences with “experts” who insist on pointing out flaws that I love about myself, you can say that I have become a bit reluctant to visit facial centers. I just feel uneasy whenever someone tries to talk me into trying out products and services that will only make myself regret having afterward. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about- there are lots of people out there who will try to force their products on you instead of luring you in for legitimiately providing excellent products. I for one would rather patronize an establishment that lets their products and services speak for themselves.

 

 

It’s worth noting, too, that, at SKIN, skin pricking is actually a procedure that only dermatologists are allowed to do on clients. At that point, memories of technicians from reputable businesses painfully pricking my skin to get rid of blackheads came flooding back, and I realized that I should have chanced upon this establishment in BGC earlier!

 

 

 

The Ultimate Diamond Facial Experience

SKIN recommends that their Ultimate Diamond Facial- a basic facial combined with their signature diamond peel- be done twice a month. The treatment is that safe and ideal for removing impurities and dead skin cells. 

 

 

Clients can wait for their session at the lobby, and I feel that they won’t find waiting burdensome at all, unless they are on a rush, but in which case the clinic offers SKIN Essential Express Facial (more about this here)! The staff serves The Spa’s signature ginger tea to clients and has stacks of magazines available for perusal.

 

 

After a lengthy conversation with the dermatologist, I was ushered inside one of their well-kept rooms. The room was very clean and designed to provide a relaxing area for treatments. The technician was nice enough to tell me what sort of concoction she was applying on my face, and was thoughtful enough to explain that they use different tips for different skin types during the actual diamond peel session.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The entire Ultimate Diamond Facial treatment first starts with an important first step-cleansing! Though a bit tedious, it is a necessary step if you want a basic facial worth your time and money. Chamomile cleanser was first applied on my moistened face in a calm, soothing manner. After that, honey almond scrub was applied to help remove dead skin cells. My face was then exposed to steam for a bit, and a thin layer of enzyme was next applied and left to work its magic for a good ten minutes. In between the application of these soothing concoctions, toner and very soft strips of tissue paper were used to carefully remove any excess product.

 

 

The skin preparation and basic facial lasted for several minutes, and I feel that they were more than enough for the diamond peel. I noticed that the technician was very sanitary during the whole ritual, for she used gloves when she exfoliated my skin with diamond-tip applicators. She also regularly rubbed her bare hands with alcohol before touching my face.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once the technician was done removing dead skin cells with the diamond-tip applicators, she then told me that she would have to call the doctor to check my face if pricking was necessary. I am happy to report that the doctor said that there was no need for one. He only said that my cheeks’ blood vessels are noticeable, and it could be one of the early signs of photoaging skin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

When the doctor left the room, the technician came back and applied a thick layer of algae mask on my face. After ten minutes, she carefully removed the mask with a number of strokes. Toner was again used, this time to remove traces of the mask on my face. The mask was then rolled up with plastic wrap, so I can use the mask for just one more time. 

 

 

To round up the whole Ultimate Diamond Facial treatment, serum containing Vitamin C (an important antioxidant) was applied and sunblock containing SPF25 was added as a finishing touch.

 

 

 

Final Thoughts

My session at the SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center gave me just a tiny glimpse of what the experienced professionals there can offer. They are thorough, sanitary, and very knowledgeable when it comes to skin and body solutions. That fact just further convinced me that skin care should only be trusted to the experts.

 

 

The Ultimate Diamond Peel treatment will set you back Php2,800, and the mask is an additional Php500.
