I think we can all agree that 2020 has been the worst year so far. So when we hear about any more devastating news, we just groan and prepare to either grieve or get angry some more. Well, earlier today #ripeminem trended and people were quick to scramble to the hashtag to see if it was true. People were confused, asking why it was trending while others were mad that someone had it trend when Eminem is still actually alive and well.
The rapper is fine, no worries. It was just some joke that went out of hand on Twitter. We’re not exactly sure who started it but it, of course, sparked memes and confusion, as most hashtags do. People began to flood the hashtag with pictures of Ellen Degeneres, m&m memes, and general angry react images. It was a wild ride from start to finish, even I was shocked at the hashtag before flaring my nostrils in disapproval.
