When in Manila, many an idea have been exhausted on what constitutes an ideal after-work hangout. Regardless of how many of these novelty concept bars and lounges litter the streets of BGC, however, everyone (myself included) can’t seem to get enough of them! Nothing sounds more inviting than a cozy spot, great drinks, food, and friends after a busy day at work. Recently, yet another original happy-hour spot has been spotted on our radar and warrants checking out. As such, who are we to refuse? 😉

Ebeneezers – not to be confused with its namesake in HK – seamlessly fuses together the concept of naughty and nice dining and lounging – all conveniently compartmentalized at that. At the ground-level is a wholesome shawarma/salad bar that offers fresh juices and salad veggies, home-made salad sauces, and Mediterranean-style shawarmas in lamb, steak and chicken varieties – all marinated and grilled with love. And because we’re in the Philippines, Ebeneezers also offers Shawarma Rice Pilaf platters. The best part? The place is open until 2 in the morning!

Upstairs, however, is an entirely different story. The second floor landing opens up to “The Naughty Room” – a comfy, cozy lounge area with plush couches and a bar illuminated in neon lights. It’s the perfect place to enjoy one of Ebeneezer’s hand-crafted specialty cocktails that are just as unique as their dining concept. No scrooges allowed here! Absolutely loved their “Tea Thyme” cocktail, inspired by none other than English tea time, made with Earl Grey tea, egg, thyme, peaches, and gin. Also available are some tasty and sinful bar grub: crispy falafel balls, deep-fried zuchinni, chicken skin and fish n’ chips, among others.

Before i forget! Ebeneezers offers a buy-one-take-one happy hour promo for their cocktails all day on Mondays and Fridays. Best happy-hour deal, considering they have an amazing selection of crafted cocktails.
