Finally, after months of waiting, the Driver’s License cards can now be claimed in Metro Manila starting last Monday, December 19, ABS-CBN reported. According to LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante, those who have pending applications from January 1 to October 16 may claim their cards at 36 licensing offices in Metro Manila.

How to claim?

As instructed by Secretary Galvante, in claiming the driver’s license cards, applicants need to present the official receipt issued to them when they applied for their license cards. Furthermore, he also encouraged the public not to be deceived by fixers and clarified that claiming the driver’s license cards has no charge.

As quoted: “I would like to caution all the claimants that they need not pay a single centavo to claim their driver’s licenses since they have already paid for it.”

In addition, LTO has confirmed that releasing of the cards will erase 700,000 of the 3-million backlog in driver’s license cards with a three-year validity period. Moreover, the rollout in other regions is expected to be completed by February 2017.

So, if you are one of those people waiting for the driver’s license cards, check the nearest LTO office in your area!
