On March 6, 2010, actress Maine Mendoza had a simple tweet. She said, “Hi. You’re watching Myx. The number one music channel in the Philippines.” It was the line that VJs on the music channel often said, and it’s one that she finally gets to say in real life, as she guested on the channel.

She announced the news herself on Twitter, saying, “Tweeted this 9 years ago and now I am here at Myx! Guest lang naman ako pero waaaahhh nakakatuwa! Nice to finally meet you, @robertmarion!” (“I’m just a guest but I’m so happy!”)
Her first real break towards showbiz was in 2015, when her Dubsmash videos became viral and she became a host on Eat Bulaga. Her chemistry with co-host Alden Richards led to a wildly successful improv soap opera, known for its split-screen frame and Mendoza’s dubbing of lines from popular songs and films.
According to Nielsen ratings, Eat Bulaga enjoyed a 300% increase in its viewership. In 2018, the hashtag #AlDubEBTamangPanahon was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most-used hashtag within 24 hours with 40.7 million tweets.
