Foodies, cooks, food entrepreneurs, and mommies looking for great deals flocked last September 20 and 21 to the World Trade Center for the third run of the food business convention, KAINdustriya. Powered by supermarket chain Puregold, KAINdustriya is a two-day event aimed to uphold the company’s advocacy to support small to medium food enterprises.

This year’s event brought big names to the celebration. On September 20th, gracing KAINdustriya’s stage were Eat Bulaga hosts Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo, and was later joined by one-half of the hit AlDub loveteam, Alden Richards. Actor Xian Lim was also present, performing a song for the event attendees, as well as band Silent Sanctuary who capped off the event on the second day.
And although KAINdustriya certainly did not disappoint in the entertainment department, that is just the tip of the iceberg. The attendees of the incredible food business convention has grown by the thousands in just the last three years, and it is easy to see why.

4. The food fair

Imagine this—KAINdustriya occupied two massive tents at the World Trade Center. One tent was exclusively for the food stalls. We’re talking sandwiches, shawarma, rice meals, and even lechon. These were just some of the food I found at least, and there were dozens more there I didn’t get a chance to stop by at anymore!
Lugging their overflowing grocery carts with them, families would trod on over to this side of WTC when in need of a rest and a recharge.
3. The contests and the amazing prizes
Throughout KAINdustriya, games were held that not only served as added entertainment (I had fun just watching) but gave the event attendees a chance to win some pretty cool prizes as well.
On a lager scale, the KAINtrepreneur competition also took place. For the contest, 10 groups of food business owners prepared dishes for a set of judges who would choose two runner-ups and one ultimate champion. The champion took home Php50,000 cash, a Php130,000 worth of culinary course, and around Php75,000 worth of kitchen showcase.
2. The talks and cooking demos
If you are a food entrepreneur or simply anyone with a desire to learn more about food, KAINdustriya is a the perfect avenue for you to learn and network with fellow entrepreneurs and foodies.
Seasoned chefs conducted interactive live cooking demos, graciously answering questions from the audience. And, on stage, testimonies to Puregold’s “Tindahan ni Aling Puring” were told by people whose businesses and lives were improved by the loyalty program.
