During this time, we all know everyone’s just about hectic looking for the perfect place to spend Valentine’s Day. Some would settle for a romantic candle-lit dinner; ending the meal with wine and a few hugs and kisses. But if you’re the type of person who likes taking things to the next level, then, The Terrace at Resorts World Manila’s Dine under the Stars Package would be your best bet this upcoming V-day.
The package features a gourmet 4-course meal, a Sommelier’s selection of wine pairings, a live acoustic band, floral arrangements and languorous lighting by the pool side. If this isn’t taking your date to the next level, then I don’t know what is. During our dinner, we even had one of the staff stay beside our Cabana just so he could attend to all of our needs. He would also casually ask us if we needed anything and made sure we were comfortable all throughout our stay.
The meal starts with a refreshing starter of Orange-scented goat cheese salad with braised red beets, avocado and arugula, followed by a steaming bowl of creamy lobster bisque with carrot pearls. The salad was light and flavorful; perfectly paired with the lobster bisque which had a unique taste of its own. We also ordered Fresh Pineapple juice and Fresh Mango juice to complement our meal.

For the main course, The Terrace’s selection of mains has something to satisfy any craving with choices of Boneless Beef Short Ribs braised in red wine sauce served with cheddar cheese polenta and roasted cippolini onions and chestnuts, Crispy Pan-seared Snapper Fillet basted with sweet and sour tamarind glazed on nicoise vegetables and rosemary butter sauce. Or Chicken Kiev stuffed with grilled ratatouille vegetables and mozzarella served on a bed of sundried tomato sauce and olive capellini pasta. We had the Beef Short Ribs and Snapper Fillet. The beef was extremely tender; it melts in your mouth. The Snapper fillet on the other hand introduces a refreshing sweet and sour flavor as the tamarind glaze enhances the rest of the aroma of this dish.
We were also served with semi-dry Sparkling Wine. If you are not a wine connoisseur yourself, no need to worry! Their menu include Wine suggestions, in any case you can’t decide which one to get. Still undecided? The friendly staff are at your beck and call and would enthusiastically give you their recommendations.

To top everything off, we had Cheesecake St. Valentine with Lemon and Berry Marmalade and Citrus Tuile. The look was fancy and delectable, but the taste? Even more so. This might have been the best Cheesecake I’ve had in my entire life. It’s the perfect time wherein you can say, looks aren’t all deceiving. It has the perfect sweetness and tangy taste to it. The Citrus Tuile pairs perfectly with the creamy cheesecake. Make sure to have it with coffee and you’ll never ever want to end our night any other way.

The Terrace’s at Resorts World Manila has been doing this Traditional Valentine’s Special for four years now. The package costs P1900 net/head and is served with one round of iced tea or juice. And having had the chance to experience it first hand, I can definitely say Dining Under The Stars would make your Valentine’s Day celebration not just a dazzling one, but also one that’s unforgettable and undeniably for the books.
