The Fine Pleasures of Dimsum at Oakwood’s Nostalgia Dining Lounge

 

When In Manila, The Nostalgia Dining Lounge at Oakwood will put you up for a treat starting this August with its Dim Sum delights!  Its a delectable and scrumptious journey steamed to perfection.

 

 

The Dim Sum experience is a happy and relaxed way of enjoying dining.  Usually served with tea, you’re up to having a good meal with friends – the one that fills you up just right and doesn’t make you feel guilty after.

Freshly served, Dim Sum at Oakwood will take you on a gastronomic journey of different tastes exploding with flavour in every dish.  I’m so excited to present to you to the exquisite Dim Sum at The Nostlagia Dining Lounge.

The Har Kaw, (or Hakaw as we commonly know it) has been on my top list for a long time.  The delicately created Cantonese shrimp dimsum is a culinary art in itself by its meticulous preparation and exquisite flavor.  You get fresh shrimp, and a firm gooey wrap that goes around it.  (Php 350 nett / 4 pieces).

The Siew Mai is delicously seasoned pork and vegetables wrapped in wanton and steamed to perfection. A common dish you’d say that can be found anywhere here in Manila – but this specific one in Oakwood is a fine pleasure made in the meticulous tastes of its world class chefs (Php 350 nett / 4 pieces).

Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. Bite into an explosion of flavor of tender and sweet slow-roasted barbequed pork encased in a pillow of soft Chinese buns (Php 325 nett / 4 pieces)

Steamed Shrimp and Spinach Dumplings.  This is one of my favorites from the selection.  Its a great combination of flavorful shrimp and fresh spinach wrapped into a dumpling of steamed goodness.  Every bite gives a wondrous array of flavours that also scream of healthy at the same time. (Php 290 nett / 3 pieces)

 

Steamed Cream Custard Bun with Salted Egg.  Without a doubt, this dish is what steals the show.  Creamy and heavenly, these buns are oozing with savory salted egg yoke in every bite.  Soft, tender and delightfully filling!  It gives you ultra-luxe experience in every bite.  Seriously. (Php  290 nett / 3 pieces).

 

Dimsum Platter gives your favorite Cantonese delights in one order (Php 510 nett / 6 choices of any dimsum).

 

If you precisely know how to celebrate, then you can up your dim sum experience by having it inside one of the newly renovated private dining rooms within The Nostalgia Lounge – check out Cosmopolitan Shanghai.  Its a mix of the old and new, with vibrant fabric & details, combined with traditional furniture and a unique oriental dining experience (accommodates 6 people).

 

The two more private dining rooms Bohemian Paris and Old Manila all represent the international flavour of Nostalgia Dining Lounge.

Bohemian Paris, comes with striking visuals and accessories with a youthful color palette (accommodates 6 people).

 

The Old Manila, is traditional Filipino with furniture reminiscent of the glory days of the capital (accommodates 12 people)

There’s also the Oakroom Lounge & Bar which is a relaxed and cozy option for private gatherings and celebrations.  It can accommodate up to 38 people and is a smoking room.

I love the new look of dining at Oakwood with The Nostlagia Dining Lounge.  Aside from the already cozy interiors, the whole venue inspires you to enjoy your evening by reflecting on past great memories, whilst creating new warm ones.
