Scheduled a Passport Appointment in Metro Manila During the ECQ? Here’s What Will Happen…

Following the announcement of the imposition of an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to August 20, the Department of Foreign Affairs will be closing its consular and off-site passport service offices in Metro Manila during that two-week period.

This cease of operations means that many Filipinos who may have scheduled passport appointments during that timeframe will be affected. But none need to worry; in an advisory made by the DFA on Saturday, July 31, those affected should receive a separate e-mail advisory regarding a new appointment schedule.

DFA also clarified that applicants with appointments for apostille or authentication services at Ali Mall in Cubao, SM Manila, SM Megamall, and Metro Gaisano Alabang during the ECQ will still be accommodated on their original dates and times but at the DFA-Aseana Business Park in Parañaque City instead.

Meanwhile, the Aseana office will continue to accept applicants for passport and apostille or authentication services with confirmed appointments during the ECQ. No walk-ins will be allowed.

DFA advised all those with urgent concerns and requests for emergency and medical travel should email cl@dfa.gov.ph (for passport appointments) or authentication@dfa.gov.ph (for apostille or authentication services) together with the necessary documents: copy of current passport or a government-issued ID if new applicant and proof of emergency travel; or copies of documents to be apostilled or authenticated, current passport or government-issued ID, and proof of emergency.

The ECQ was imposed as a response to the rising numbers of COVID-19 infections due to the Delta variant.
