COVID-19 Cases Rise to 1,546 in the Philippines

The Department of Health just announced 128 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients this March 30, Monday. This brings the total number of cases within the Philippines to 1,546.

The DOH also reported a total of 78 deaths and 42 recoveries, as of 4:00 p.m. of March 30. Today saw an additional 7 deaths and no new recoveries from yesterday’s figures.

Yesterday’s total number of cases stood at 1,418 with a total of 71 fatalities and 42 recoveries recorded.

On March 17, President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the virus. Employees were encouraged to work from home and public transportation was suspended.
