Composite: Noise(s) MNL + HK is a soundscape project, a sound performance, and a cultural exchange between artists from Manila and Hong Kong.  Activities for this project include field recording, sound archiving for online platform, composition using field recording, collaborative experimental music/noise composition, performance, Tambarter (Tambay+Barter), which is a barter of CD, sound files, access links, zines produced by participating artists and other guests during an informal colloquy or tambay time.

The production is being directed by Mark Laccay’s Sonic Logo Multimedia; the program is conceptualized and will be curated by DayangYraola, experimental/noise musicians Dennis Wong aka Sin:Ned(Hong Kong) and Arvin Noguerasaka Caliph8 (Manila). The production and performance will be hosted by Post Cubao’s FM Session from January 6 to 8, 2017. Other participating artists are Eric Chan aka e:ch (HK), Chau Kin-Wai aka KWC (HK), John Sobrepena aka obelise (MNL), Erik Calilan (MNL), Roger Lopez aka Inconnu Ictu (MNL), Teresa Barrozo (MNL).

Taking inspiration from the usage of the term composite in the field of Science, Composite Noise(s) as a project that puts together urban soundscape, sound art practice, experimental music and noise practice, cultural exchange, artists’ initiative, collaborative production and others into one composite whole while allowing them to make manifest as layers or elements. Composite Noise(s) will attempt to exhibit how the layers or elements mentioned above, excite, inspire, and motivate artists to create new things and revisit or challenge the old.
