Premier lifestyle hub Commercenter Alabang is launching a fun and unique new business expo — one that’s just for kids! BIZ KIDS, a weekend fair slated on July 28-29, 2018 at the mall’s main activity area, will let kids who possess that entrepreneurial flair showcase and sell their self-made products.

Open to young innovators aged 5 to 12 who want to turn their million-dollar idea into a real business venture, BIZ KIDS aims to encourage next-generation entrepreneurs by providing them with an avenue where they can meet and network with new people whom they can convert to customers.

“A lot of people in business now started young by selling home-baked cookies, hand-made accessories, and other products they made themselves, right at their backyards,” shares Leslie Tagle-Dinglasan, AVP for Marketing of Commercenter Alabang.

“You can think of BIZ KIDS as a start-up incubator, but for kids,” she adds. “We want them to get real business experience from the weekend fair.”

BIZ KIDS provides the expo space free-of-charge for two days, to allow the participants to focus on producing and selling their products. This also lets them keep all the proceeds of their sales, which they can use as capital for their business ventures.

Closing out the two-day weekend fair is the BIZ KIDS Awards, to recognize the most promising of the bunch of participating entrepreneurs. The Award Categories are:

  • Most Innovative Biz — for the most unique product and presentation
  • Most Visited Booth/Crowd Favorite — the booth that earns the most number of voting chips from expo guests
  • Best Booth Design — rated for creativity, resourcefulness, and branding
  • Most Creative Marketer — for the use of a good mix of on-ground and online promotions, as well as material designs
  • Sales Genius — highest sales per category

“Learning the values of hard work and discipline, and understanding the most basic business concepts at such an early age sets them up for the success in the future –that’s what we want our kiddie entrepreneurs to take home from their BIZ KIDS experience,” quips Tagle-Dinglasan. “We’re excited about the products and ideas the kids will bring to the event, but we’re definitely more excited about their futures.”

Registration to BIZ KIDS runs from today until July 15, 2018. To join, the young entrepreneur must submit the following: (1) filled out application form (downloadable from www.tinyurl.com/commercenter-bizkids), (2) applicant’s photo, (3) business logo, if available, and (4) product photos.

Applications will be screened to ensure that no two participants are selling the same product. The list of selected participants will be announced on the Commercenter Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/commercenter) on July 17, 2018.
