‘Coming to America 2’ is Officially Happening – and Eddie Murphy Will be Back!

“Wakanda forever” is so last year. Get ready to say “Zamunda forever”. If you’ve watched the 1988 film ‘Coming to America’, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t seen it yet, then get on it (it’s available on Netflix!).

‘Coming to America’ is a hilarious film that follows the story of Prince Akeem, played by Eddie Murphy, who rules a rich African country yet longs to leave to find true love. He then flies to New York with Semmi, played by Arsenio Hall, to find his future queen where he ends up working in a fast food restaurant – a far cry from his royal life in Zamunda.

Coming to America

Now, Eddie Murphy has announced the sequel to this classic comedy and aside from Eddie Murphy back as Prince Akeem; the original director, John Landis, will be back onboard, as well. Rising comedian Craig Brewer will also be joining the cast. Let’s hope they bring back Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones. (My hopes are high since James Earl Jones is voicing Mufasa again in the live-action version of ‘The Lion King’. Hehe.)
