If you are planning to have a staycation with your family or friends, we found a hotel that is oh-so-affordable. Located in Makati, you would think that City Garden Hotel Makati is expensive, but it is actually quite affordable without sacrificing the pleasures of a quality hotel.
I love hotel beds and the beds in City Garden are certainly comfortable. Don’t tell anyone, but the beds were so soft and bouncy, we played and jumped on them like kids. 😉
Our suite had a queen and a double bed, but we also asked for an extra to set up our perfect slumber party. Again, the beds were so comfy, we spent the majority of our time in City Garden just inside our room, sprawled lazily on the beds, watching TV, and eating, of course. We stayed at the hotel for three days and two nights and ate our hearts out at their rooftop restaurant—Encima Roofdeck Restaurant. For only P650, you can order all the Mexican food want. Plus it comes with a glass of unli margarita. I repeat. Unli. Margarita.

My favorite part about Encima Roofdeck Restaurant, aside from their good Mexican food, is that it gives you an incredible view of the Makati skyline. All the city lights gleaming in the night, the delicious cocktails, and good food—together with the perfect company, sitting here could be the most relaxed you’ll ever feel in a while. That’s what happened to me and my friends, at least. Nothing like good conversations to cap a good night off.
In case all the binge-eating at Encima Roofdeck Restaurant might make you feel guilty the day after, you can hit City Garden Hotel’s gym, which still offers an amazing view of the city, of course. That’s one of the things I loved about this hotel—it’s in the heart of Makati (it’s located along Makati Ave.), such a vibrant city, and so accessible and close to any type of establishment you can think of.
And if working out is not your thing (like us), you can hit the hotel’s spa and sauna rooms instead. The best part is if you’re too spent from a day’s work, you can stay in your own room and they’ll bring the massage to you, room service style. So yes, you can totally go straight to sleep right after the massage. Talk about R&R!
City Garden Hotel’s pool is so beautiful especially during sunset. It is also located on the roof, so you have Makati’s entire gorgeous city view while sitting in the pool. Their bar and restaurant is nearby so you can order some refreshments. Happy hour starts from 4 pm, a perfect time to catch the sunset and chill-drink your way into the night.
If you fancy a night out and experience Makati’s famous red light district then we can’t recommend City Garden Hotel more. Right in the middle of Makati’s famous district for the best eats and pubs, everywhere is just a walk away.
