Celebrity Chefs nationwide are organizing themselves for a tribute dinner for the families of the 44 fallen heroes of the PNP’s Special Action Force unit who died at the siege in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Sunday.
The tribute dinner, dubbed as “Chefs for Fallen 44,” is spearheaded by celebrity chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou. He made a call on his Facebook account early this morning for his colleagues in the dining industry to join hands in solidarity with today’s National Day of Mourning in the aim to raise funds to help the families of our fallen heroes.
A Facebook Group has been opened to coordinate efforts. The hashtag #chefs4fallen44 has also been created to spread the word on Twitter and Instagram (@chefs4fallen44) and across various social media outlets.
For those interested to join and help in the efforts, please contact Chef Myke Tatung at 09158463234 or email at chefs4fallen44@foodfindsasia.com or chefs4fallen44@gmail.com
The 44 SAF officers and personnel died in a so called misencounter with MILF and BIFF units while on a mission to serve a warrant to two wanted terrorists in the said town of Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
