Tucked in the streets of Pasig lies a hidden gem that foodies will surely love. Italian restaurant Osteria 1608 offers a unique take on classic Italian dishes: all of the ingredients are homemade – from the dough to the sauces and cheeses!
The story behind their name? Osteria 1608 is derived from the Italian word osteria which literally means “Italian restaurant” and 1608 which is the zip code of their location, so you’ll never forget what they are and where to find them.
The best part? They have a wood fire brick oven, so you’ll really get the authentic Italian experience of having pizza straight from the oven. Plus: their pizza is handcrafted and made right before your eyes!
Fish and Chips (Php129)
Crispy and flavorful with every bite, Osteria 1608’s fish and chips is the bomb! Have it as an appetizer or eat it alongside your main dish. Either way, this fish and chips dish will not let you down. (Trust us. We couldn’t get enough of it.)
Maschera (Php249)
Osteria 1608’s specialty, the Maschera pizza, is definitely a must-try! Topped with Italian sausages, homemade guanciale (Italian cured pork) ribbons, homemade mozzarella, and basil; the Maschera will have you begging for more. Plus, it’s easy to eat because the dough is so thin. You’ll surely eat everything. Yup, even the crust!
Prosciutto and Bourbon Surprise (Php420)
Every month, Osteria 1608 offers a special pizza flavor which they call their “Pizza of the Month”. For the month of June, they offered the Sorpresa di Prosciutto e Bourbon (Prosciutto and Bourbon Surprise), a delicious pizza topped with prosciutto, beef sausage with bourbon bone marrow, and bleu cheese sauce!
La Mar (Php239)
Squid ink? Yes, please! This homemade squid ink fettuccine with shrimp, mussels, and squid is flavorful with every bite. Seafood lovers will surely enjoy this dish.
Carbonara (Php189)
For those who prefer white sauce, Osteria 1608’s Carbonara is so creamy! Their homemade fettucini goes perfectly well with their authentic carbonara sauce and parmesan cheese. This is definitely a must-try!
Chicken Peri-Peri (Php190)
If you’re already feeling carbo-loaded, their Chicken Peri-Peri is a delicious relief. This grilled half chicken is marinated in lemon, thyme, and a mix of spices. Each bite is so juicy. Don’t forget to dip it in its special sauce!
2-Tone Chamomile (Php70), and Wild Berry and Herbs (Php60)
Just like their dishes, their drinks are also homemade. The best part? These beautiful concoctions taste as good as they look!
The 2-Tone Chamomile is a refreshing blend of chamomile tea infused with butterfly pea, cinnamon, and mint.
Another noteworthy drink is their Wild Berry and Herbs, a wildberry tea infused with ginger and rosemary. Complete your meal by accompanying it with these wonderful beverages!
