CARA Welfare Philippines is appealing to animal lovers everywhere to help them continue their mission of rescuing our local furry friends!
CARA took to Instagram to ask for support as they face rising costs of sustaining their animal shelters as well as the increasing number of abandoned animals in their custody.

“This 2019 has been both rewarding and challenging for CARA,” they wrote on the post. “We continue to make meaningful projects for the community, as we have launched PALENGKETS (spay and neuter of public market cats), A.W.A.R.E. (Animal Welfare And Responsible Pet Ownership Education) for public school and at least three spay and neuter operations to three barangays.”
They continued, “We humbly appeal for your support today. In Mandaluyong alone, we have 120 cats that we have been caring for. CARA was not intended as a shelter but we could not turn our back on the animals abandoned at our doorsteps and rare rescues of animals in distress.”
They also reported that they have been spending at least PHP 180,000 a month to sustain the upkeep of their shelters.
