Cagayan Valley Is COVID-19 Free As All Its Patients Officially Recover

The Cagayan Valley region is now clear of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after the last of its 26 infected patients was discharged this Tuesday.

According to Dr. Ildefonso Costales, medical director of the Southern Isabela Medical Center chief, PH4805 – a Cauayan City health worker – was the last among their 26 patients to be sent home. The region recorded 1 COVID-19 fatality.

Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, chief of the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, confirmed that the medical center has released 14 recovered patients, mostly from Tuguegarao City, and the towns of Gattaran and Piat.

8 of the recovered patients are from Isabela province, from the towns of Alicia, Cabagan, and Echague, and the cities of Cauayan and Santiago.

5 other recovered patients are from Nueva Vizcaya province, from the towns of Bayombong, Solano, and Alfonso Castañeda. The single fatality came from Solano.

Tuesday also marked the 15th straight day that no new COVID-19 cases had been reported in the region.
