This Iconic Shop in Harajuku, Tokyo Closes Down After 44 Years

Harajuku, Tokyo is home to many colorful and kitschy shops and cafés that are widely-visited by locals and tourists alike. People often drop by to shop for cute outfits, anime goods, and, best of all, mouthwatering desserts! Those who’ve been to Harajuku would know that you’d always come there for the crepes, especially with the number of different crepe shops around, including the first one to ever open in the district, Café Crepe Angels Heart.

Unfortunately, it’s been reported that Café Crepe Angels Heart has officially closed its doors 44 years since it began serving its sweet creations to customers. Established in 1977, this shop would constantly have long lines of people waiting to taste their crepes and would sell at least 3,000 of them every day!

The closure was the result of an expired lease, according to the Shibuya Economic Newspaper. It is unknown if the shop will relocate somewhere else within Harajuku.
