Britney Spears is officially engaged! The “Oops, I Did It Again” hitmaker surprised fans all over the globe with the happy news that she and her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, are getting hitched through an Instagram video of her flaunting her diamond ring.
“I can’t f***ing believe it!” she gushed.
Fans and friends quickly sent congratulatory messages to the singer for this new chapter in her life, but there are those who immediately expressed concern for her to make Sam sign a prenuptial agreement in order to protect her assets amid accusations that Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, has been mismanaging her funds for 13 years during her conservatorship.
A prenuptial agreement is a written contract that is created by two people before they are married in order to list down all of the property each person owns and specify what each person’s property rights will be after the marriage.
Among those who voiced out their thoughts regarding this was Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer, who said: “Make him sign a prenup.”
Though Britney did not respond to her comment, Sam addressed the concerns on his Instagram story in a lighthearted manner. “Thank you everyone who is concerned about The prenup! Of course we’re getting iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection incase she dumps me one day,” he said while adding laughing-crying emojis.
Sam and Britney first went public with their relationship in late 2016 after meeting on the set of Britney’s music video for her song “Slumber Party,” in which Sam played her love interest.
