UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson moved to ICU after COVID-19 symptoms worsen

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to the ICU after his  COVID-19 symptoms have worsened. This is 11 days after it was revealed that the Prime Minister tested positive for the virus.

When he was first rushed to the hospital, his office clarified that his admission to a hospital was not an emergency and that it is a “precautionary step” taken on the advice of a doctor. They also say that Johnson still remains in charge of the government.

The UK Prime Minister is also the first major government official known to contract the virus has been isolating in an apartment in Downing St. While self-isolating, Johnson still continued to release videos addressing the UK about the crisis.

This news also comes after Queen Elizabeth II addressed the nation, saying that citizens should unite and resolve to overcome this pandemic. As of writing, the virus has infected more than 51,000 people in Britain with 5,373 deaths and 135 recoveries.
