An up-and-coming Filipina musician is ready to make waves in the local music industry!

The song, which is sung in both English and Korean, talks about finding someone who will always choose to stay by your side, through rain or shine, and help you carry all your burdens.

“Should I still believe in Captain Ri / Cause a guy like him is a fantasy / But I’m alright, cause I know I got mine,” the lyrics go.

Speaking to When In Manila, Bey shared how the song came about. She revealed that she got the help of Eunice Jorge, the vocalist of local band Gracenote, to write the song for her after talking about what they liked to do in their free time. “The mention of KDramas came up and the first thing she had asked me was, ‘Did you watch Crash Landing yet?’ And I said, ‘No, I haven’t yet but I really want to because everyone keeps raving about it especially during quarantine, like everyone’s watching it,'” she shared. “We were also sending each other back and forth songs that inspired us, what kind of genres we wanted to make in the future, like when it came to writing songs together and producing together. And a couple of days later, she had sent me the demo for ‘Crash Landing’ and I fell in love with it.”

The lyric video has already garnered over 5,000 views within the two weeks since it was posted and Bey couldn’t help but express her joy in reading all the amazing comments she’s read so far online regarding her song.

“Every single comment has made me so happy,” she told us. “Just hearing the warm response from people being very open-minded, cause I was very anxious since I’m a first-timer, I’m new to the industry. So for me to be introduced and have the single come and have people love listening to it and welcome the song has already been such a dream for me.”

Being a young musician, Bey definitely has a positive outlook on her music career and is excited to keep working hard to achieve her goals.

“I’m really hoping to put out more music and I really want to be able to experiment with my sounds, whether that be trying out different genres [or] being able to broaden out to collaborating with people in the future, other artists, other musicians… that would be so cool, so interesting too to see what could be created from that,” she said.

“Looking forward [also] to an album, [and] just really discovering the kind of vibe I’d love to produce and also the type of music I love to hear just combine the two and be able to make something.”
