When in Manila, what better place to savour the delights of great wine than at Sofitel Philippine Plaza? It is then only fitting for Manila’s only 5-star hotel to host a month-long tribute in honour of all things wine, with its annual “Sofitel Wine Days” celebration.
The Sofitel Wine Days are finally here! The event is set to be an exquisite journey for wine lovers and connoisseurs alike as Sofitel takes them through a collection of the choicest vintage, and the many ways with which to enjoy them. From September 21 to October 31, Sofitel will be offering various wine dinners, tasting events, and one-of-a-kind wine experiences that are sure to entice and thrill the senses.
I got the chance to partake in Sofitel’s Une Soireée en Provence, one of their many food and wine pairing dinners for September. This event celebrated the spirit of Provence’s rich cuisine and their ardent love for great wine. We were greeted with a lavish spread of savory Provencal delicacies and were spoiled with glasses of Côté Mas wines to pair with each dish; it was a truly magnificent experience!
As I myself am admittedly wine-curious, I can’t wait to discover what else Sofitel has in store for this month! I’ll be sharing with you the events that I’m most excited about, starting with:
THE MAGNIFIQUE COLLECTION
SPIRAL TASTING ROOM, WEDNESDAY, 30TH OF SEPTEMBER 2015, 4PM to 6PM
A highly exclusive gathering for a party of ten, priviledged epicures are invited to sample a distinct selection of the finest wines, featuring the Grand Cru selection of Latour Premier Grand Cru Classé 2006, Haut-Brion Premier Grand Cru Classé 2001, Château Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classé 2005 and Pétrus 1998. All to be paired with premium canapés crafted by Spiral’s seasoned chefs.
ENCHANTED | SOFITEL’S WHITE PARTY UNDER THE MOON
SUNSET BAR, MONDAY, 28TH OF SEPTEMBER 2015, 6:30PM – 10:30PM
A dazzling night under the stars with the finest wines, great music, and fireworks! What’s not to love? Step out in your all-white best and get ready to dance the night away under the moonlight, which may also be viewed up-close through telescopes during the event.

Sofitel takes wining and dining to a whole new level as it welcomes you to experience wine tasting at sub-zero temperatures! Enjoy a lovely brunch within the charming walls of Intramuros as you learn more about the Philippine’s rich history accompanied by a delicious wine and picnic spread. Premium Rosé, delectable salads and sandwiches, anyone?
THE BUBBLY

This is, in my opinion, the best way to cap off the Sofitel Wine Days festivities – with lots and lots of bubbly! Delight in some of the world’s premium champagne offerings: Moët & Chandon, Krug, Ruinart and Dom Pérignon, alongside a selection of canapés at Spiral’s Cheese Room.
But wait, there’s heaps more! Also not to be missed is Sofitel’s French Wine Tasting dinner series, happening on all Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 21 to Oct. 31, as well as their Brunch French Wine tasting to be held at Spiral on all Sundays from Sept. 21 to Oct. 31.
