“Akala mo lang wala, pero meron, meron, meron!”
This is the iconic line said by actor Carlo Aquino back when he was a young boy, starring in the 1998 film “Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa?” which was adapted from the novel of the same name written by Lualhati Bautista. With Vilma Santos taking on the lead role in this story that highlights the struggle of a Filipino woman in a patriarchal society, the movie, director Chito S. Roño, and the cast went on to win various distinctions in the FAMAS Awards, Asia-Pacific Film Festival, Gawad Urian Awards, FAP Awards, Star Awards for Movies, and Young Critics Circle.
It’s been 24 years since and we’ve all been taken on this trip down memory lane after Carlo, now all grown up, just had a spontaneous reunion with his onscreen sibling Serena Dalrymple!
Carlo met up with Serena in the US where he was visiting for a concert tour for ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, and the latter shared the pictures on her Instagram account. “Akala mo lang wala, pero meron! meron!” she said, quoting her onscreen brother’s line.

Carlo then thanked her for the brief reunion in the comments section of her post.
Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but gush over the sudden throwback.
“Waaaaaah! My childhood heart!” one fan expressed.
“Wow, I remembered the movie. It’s nice to see you both all grown up. Stay safe and healthy,” said another.
“Wow so nice na makita kayo ulit. 90 kids are the best,” another commented.
It’s unknown whether Serena was in the US for vacation or if she is planning to move there with her fiancé Thomas Bredillet.
