Ballet Philippines brings back acclaimed dance artist Edna Vida Froilan as choreographer, and premier danseur Nonoy Froilan, who top-bills the highly anticipated production as Scrooge in his first starring role onstage since his retirement in 1993 for its third major production for its 44th.

A Christmas Carol is a touching story of how Ebeneezer Scrooge journeys through the past, the present, and the future, to find meaning in the festivities of Christmas and rekindle his good-natured spirit in time for the holidays.

Scrooge is deeply saddened by the death of his business partner Jacob Marley, and as a result, he turns into a selfish and cold-hearted person. That is, until the ghost of his dead colleague Marley appears to him and tells him to change his meaningless way of life.

He travels in time with the Ghost of Christmas Past and the Ghost of Christmas Present, each showing him how he has chosen to live and how this has affected those very dear to him.

Scrooge then meets the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come and sees the dreaded Angel of Death, before he finally finds himself back on his own bed on Christmas morning—with plenty of time to change his life.

A classic story retold with a fresh approach by the world-class cast from Ballet Philippines, A Christmas Carol hopes to bring merriment to its audience and enliven the joyous spirit of the very holiday that Filipino families love to celebrate.

Founded in 1969 by Alice Reyes with the support of Eddie Elejar and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Ballet Philippines is the country’s premier dance company and is known worldwide for its repertoire of classical and modern pieces.

CCP Dance School,  the school of Ballet Philippines, continues to produce dancers of international caliber.
