A derivation from the two stories from the anthology, “Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang”, by Severino Reyes, Ateneo ENTABLADO presents its socio-political advocacy for the 33rd Season, “Understand the state of society and engage in discourse to be able to traverse the path towards national peace,” through a play entitled Gulo ng Gugulong na Ulo.

The play, written by Jerome D. Ignacio and directed by Jethro Tenorio, addresses a theme very timely with the upcoming 2016 General Elections – good governance.

The theme resonates through the stories of “Ang Sultan Saif” and “Ang Haring Malupit” from Reyes’s works. It revolves around a leader subjected to criticisms because of his alleged biased leadership and lack of wisdom in settling disputes among his people. It portrays the significance of wisdom in the process of choosing to right leader.

The show runs from July 1-5, July 8-11, 2015 at 7 pm with 1 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. on Saturday at the Black Box Theater, Ateneo De Manila University. For tickets and inquiries, please see the Ateneo ENTABLADO facebook page (facebook.com/ateneo.entablado) or contact Edric Manahan at 09175127106.
