Summer is coming!

The World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) Summer Camp will be bigger and better in its 11th year this 2017. This year, the camp will be held from May 29 to June 3, 2017, at the Bamboo House Beach Lodge and Restaurant in Talipanan, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines.

The WYAAP Summer Camp is an extensive 6-day program that involves lectures, workshops, individual presentations, and outdoor activities. It is a major educational training program of WYA specially designed to train emerging young leaders to communicate articulately in the discourse of human dignity and to develop a vocabulary with which to engage local and international communities on issues that impact policy and culture. Our various camp activities provide participants an avenue for growth to enhance their leadership and social skills wherein they undergo the WYA Certified Training Program (CTP) and experience innovative discussions, leadership training, team-building activities, and site excursions

Besides these, campers also have the chance to meet fellow young leaders in the Asia Pacific region. In the past, the WYAAP Summer Camp has been attended by youth from Cambodia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam.

“Our discussion on solidarity reminded me that all of us are alike regardless of our beliefs and principles. Because of this, we must have a sense of universal responsibility which will be vital in maintaining unity among individuals,” shared Justine Grace Fronda, 10th WYAAP SC graduate and a member of the WYA Ateneo de Zamboanga Chapter.

Graduates of this program are given the opportunity and the priority to attend other World Youth Alliance events around the world, including being a representative of the organization to the United Nations.

Applications are open to youth from the Asia Pacific region and will be accepted until Friday, March 25, 2017. For more information about the Summer Camp, visit wya.net/apsummercamp or email wyaap.summercamp@gmail.com.
