American Photojournalist Aims to Help a Filipina in Need of a Kidney Transplant

My name is Mikel Flamm. I am an American photojournalist based in Bangkok, Thailand, currently wishes to help a 26-year-old girl he in Cagayan de Oro over two years ago. Her name is Michelle Resuello and she recently found out that she had been born with one kidney. The worst part: her sole kidney is now failing.

According to Mikel’s donation website, Michelle was admitted to Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan De Oro, where she was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure. While her father Noel has offered to be a kidney donor, the cost of the operation is expensive – estimated at over $25,000 plus medical care and treatment after the operation. Michelle does not have any medical insurance to cover this cost.

Mikel states that the funds raised will be used for the transplant and recovery for Michelle, so that she may have a second chance and live as normal a life as she can. Watch this video for more info:
