Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express” is Now a Movie and the Trailer is Here!

Agatha Christie Murder on the Orient Express

Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is one of the finest mystery novels ever published. Written in 1934, the novel outlines the murder of Samuel Ratchett and the investigation of Hercule Poirot, the self-proclaimed greatest detective in the world. The novel is being turned into a film again, and the trailer is out now!

Watch the trailer to the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express below:

In the novel and film, Ratchett is murdered while traveling on the Simplon-Orient Express. Fortunately, Poirot is on the train and he can investigate the case. Because the murder happened in transit, everyone on the train is a suspect.

The book was widely-praised when it was first released, with the New York Times Book Review declaring that “The great Belgian detective’s guesses are more than shrewd; they are positively miraculous. Although both the murder plot and the solution verge upon the impossible, Agatha Christie has contrived to make them appear quite convincing for the time being, and what more than that can a mystery addict desire?”

Today, it is one of the author’s most famous works, and Poirot is one of the world’s most famous detectives.

It was first adapted into film in 1974, which received six Oscar nominations. Now, Kenneth Branagh is directing the remake, and we’re quite excited! If you’ve forgotten, Branagh played Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and directed the live-action adaptation of Cinderella.

Branagh’s version of the film will be star-studded, with Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley playing prominent roles. Branagh will be playing Poirot.

The film is set to open on November 10, 2017.
