ACT MNL presents Danielle Hill’s Pula

PULA

ACT MNL (ACT MANILA) featuring Tanghalang Batingaw would be having its show as part of Fringe Manila 2019 entitled PULA written by Danielle Hill and directed by Justin Santiago and Jack Lord Lanzo. The ticket price is P300. The show will run on March 1 and 2 live at PowerMac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati.

But this stage-play is not your ordinary sit-down-and-watch one-act play.

“To say it is gory or explicit is an understatement. This is not a play that you ENJOY, rather, it is absorbing and disturbing , gut-wrenching and painful to watch.”

-Fred Hawson (Theater Critic)

With its gory theme, PULA will definitely ruin your appetite, not only because of its realistic directing and intense acting, but for the story and the issue that it tackles itself. In PULA, this person steps out of history to relate to a modern audience the atrocities that would drive ordinary people like him/herself to actively revolting against an oppressive regime: a difficult choice, but one that they felt had to be done. The show features promising young actress, Sweet Hearty Puyong, along with the ensemble of casts from ACT MNL and Tanghalang Batingaw.

About ACT MNL

ACT MNL is a group of thespians brought together by the love of theater and their burning passion. It was established in 2015 and was founded inside the halls of Arellano University-Mabini and held its first production entitled PABAON.

Our main goal is to tackle socio-cultural issues inside and outside of our country through theatrical performance for a wide variety of audiences. The logo, which looks like our traditional Philippine jeepney, symbolizes the journey which our group will embark, and just like the Philippine Jeep, we are bringing people on different routes, stories, and experiences that they will never imagine.
