A Game of Thrones prequel! How does that sound to you?
HBO Programming president Casey Bloys reportedly hinted to The Wrap (thewrap.com) that a Game of Thrones prequel could be happening. There is so much backstory to tell in GoT, after all. And with only two seasons to go, season 7 which premieres next year and season 8 which is the final season, surely fans are starting to worry what to do with their lives after being attached to the vicious world of Westeros for so long.
According to the report, Bloys said: “We’ve talked very, very kind of high-level, like, ‘Oh, that would be interesting, a prequel would be interesting, are there areas that make more sense? […] But we haven’t—no one has put pen to paper—yet. It’s still pretty early on.”
He also adds: “But, it’s such a great world and it’s such a great property, we’d be crazy not to at least explore the idea of some sort of prequel or whatever you want to call it. […] So, we are thinking about it, talking about it, but nothing really of note to report just yet.”
