It was a different kind of girl bonding as about a thousand women and honorary women gathered together last July 20 for the maiden edition of the Carbtrim – All Woman Race at the Filinvest City in Alabang.

The race enticed an awesome mix of participants – from women colorfully dressed in varying shades of pink to supportive men, regarded as honorary women of the day, wearing colorful tutus. All of them ran the race under overcast weather and on the wide, open, vehicle-free roads of Filinvest City, which provided the right amount of challenge whether it may be the 5km, 10km or the more serious 21km race.
 
Women runners upon crossing the finish line each received a boa and a special edition charm bracelet given out by hunky Brazilian models. Men who raced the 21km received a medal upon crossing the finish line – a fitting memento of their being one with the women in this celebration for womanity.
 
The post-race activity area was equally as festive as the race itself with various sponsors providing exciting activities for everyone such as a zumba activity, manicure services, and various items on sale for women to do what they love most next to running…shopping!

During the awarding ceremony, top women finishers took to the podium to receive their special prizes truly embodying not just the strength but also the speed of female runners.
 
The Carbtrim – The Bull Runner All Woman Race indeed proved that women being involved in sports can still be beautiful, fashionable and fun.
