When you think of camping, what usually comes to mind is the usual bugs, dirt, tents, and to an extent, boy scouts. For me, camping is when insects of all sorts direct their attention to me like I’m their beacon of light in their darkest hour. Nearly every time something related to camping is mentioned, I roll my eyes. That’s until I discovered…glamping.

For those not familiar to the term, in a nutshell, glamping is camping in luxury. Think of all the comforts of a standard hotel room, but instead of a room, a tent. However, a glamping site in Tagaytay called 8 Suites was able to show me that glamping can be even better than hotels, as it is an adventure in itself. Glamping can definitely be a unique experience you’ll want to do over and over again.
8 Suites offer a tent that can accommodate up to four people and one that notably includes complimentary smores, coffee and tea, breakfast, and for an additional price of only PHP350 per person, a special off-the-grill menu courtesy of their in-house chef.
But, as mentioned, this glamping site also promises to give you a unique experience. 8 Suites offer different types of options and decor which also makes them the perfect venue for get-togethers and special celebrations from romantic getaways, birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and even weddings. 8 Suites will make sure to cater to the type of experience you wish to have.
Though, that’s not the only thing they offer. The establishment also provides multiple activities for you and your family to enjoy. One of the things to look out for right now is the hiking journey with fitness coach Patrick Lansang. In your journey, he’ll take you to the ‘Palace in the Sky’, a house located on the highest point in the area, where you’ll be greeted with buko juice, breakfast and a special espasol as a reward for your adventure. The peak offers multiple views of Tagaytay’s best spots and an intriguing backstory regarding the house’s creation.
If hiking is not your thing, 8 Suites also offers an art gallery and museum trip all over Tagaytay. Most notably, Orlina Museum and Tagaytay Art Galleries! After the tour, you’ll head over to the 8 Suites Café and learn some techniques on how to further flourish your artistic side, all inspired by collected ideas from contemporary art.
