8 Strange Visions Exhibit

8strangevisionsposterwinManilacomlogo

An artist’s vision is already unique by itself.

Now, Imagine eight of them. All strange. All weird. All talking straight, some whispering in hushed tones, some screaming, all connecting to the viewer’s psyche.

Featuring an eclectic collection of contemporary art works ranging

from the fantastic to the bizarre:

the surreal political visions of Boni Jimenez,

the multi-hued abstract expressionism of Chris Magbuhos,

the colorful cubism-inspired art of Clara Villapando,

the transgressive works of Erwin Pineda,

the steampunk surrealism of Nestor Ong,

the vibrant positivism of Oying Madrilejos,

the romanticism riddles of Rene Canlas,

and the abstract oceanscapes of Roland Rosacay.

Each painting is vividly ripe with symbolism waiting to be deciphered,

pregnant with social and political commentary,

the conflict and gap between fading optimism and growing pessimism,

and broken reflections of modern day anxieties and existentialism.

You can love them or hate them. You can lose yourself or find yourself in them.

But you can not simply ignore them.

8 Strange Visions can be viewed from September 11 to October 10, 2015
