20-Something Millennials Share The Things They Wish To Hear A Little Less Often

Millennials are like this. Millennials are like that. Ugh, millennials.

How Millennials Are Changing the World

We often hear people of other generations talk and complain (or say, rant) about millennials as if we never do anything right. For the record, it’s difficult to hustle for our career, maintain our social lives, preserve the environment, pursue our passions and hey, add the fact that we have to justify the things we do from non-millennials’ nit-picking our life choices.

And so, we asked 20-something millennials about the things they’re tired of hearing and here’s what they said.

“That I’m not as traditional as they expect me to be, or that we’re entitled”.Ayra

“Sick of people saying “Huwag ka muna mag-asawa” LOL! Every single time someone older than me asks about my age, they always follow it up with a “Ang bata bata mo pa. Enjoyin’ mo lang. Huwag ka muna ikasal.” EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.” Ernesto

“Comparisons like “nung panahon ko” lines.”Gino

“I’m tired of hearing people saying “Take things slow.” It’s a fast-paced world and it won’t stop, nor slow down for anyone. So, whenever there’s an opportunity to succeed, go for it!” Anton

“Why do you have to take pictures of everything?”Marion

“Bakit kailangan mo ba kasing makisawsaw sa politics?” – Megan

“Cellphone ka ng cellphone” No longer can we deny the fact that the modern-day cellphones are extensions of man and that the functionality it boasts is nowhere else to be found.”Leoncio

“Victim shaming, rape culture, gender inequality and the word ginalingan.”Kelly

“Why do you sleep so much?” -Kristel

“Find a stable job, and earn money, there’s no money in art.” – Alex

“It sucks to always hear that millennials are used to instant gratification, that we no longer value hard work. We value hard work kaya!”Lizzie

“Your generation is so entitled” or “Wishy-washy kayo masyado. You change jobs and hobbies so easy” or “your generation have it easy” Joe

“When they say millennials are impatient and don’t work hard to get what they want.”Karlo

“Kelan ang kasal?” As a millenial ang hirap na puro ganyan ang tanong ng mga titas dahil syempre mas focused tayo on self-growth and careers kahit may relationships tayo.”  – Rem

“Kapag may pamilya ka na doon mo na lang kami maiintindihan ng mommy mo.”Kervin

“I’m tired of hearing the “adults” label everything we do or say as “that’s so millennial”. They always compare our generation to theirs and how most millennials seem to lack patience and focus.” – Angelica

“You’re too young to know everything” and “You’re old enough to have everything figured out”.Lance
