“Sweet Endings” to Make Way for a Sweeter Beginning

After nearly a month of preparation, the Plato PH team’s efforts came to fruition with the success of its event, Sweet Endings, last Saturday. It was a night overflowing with desserts, with 6 different treats to choose from and enough servings for each of the 23 guests dining to even go for seconds (if their stomachs could still even handle it!).

Before the festivities, the customers got to meet the people behind Plato PH through Laurence Espiritu, the founder of the company. Shortly afterward, the stage was given to the featured chef of the night, Chef Markus Elegino, who briefly gave an explanation of the savory meal that was to be served. Once the guests were done enjoying the Pesto Mushroom Chicken Sandwich and Mixed Greens Salad, Chef Markus didn’t hesitate to introduce everyone to the delectable desserts he prepared and open the floor for people to start digging in.

Among Chef Markus’ featured creations were the Earl Grey Religeuse, Potato Chip Pretzel Cookie, and Crème Brulee Petit Cakes. At the end of it all, more than 2 hours of dining wasn’t enough to finish everything, so each guest got to take a piece (or two, or three!) of their favorite desserts home.

This definitely won’t be the last you’ve heard of this up-and- coming company though. After this success, Plato PH plans to take the next few months expanding its platform to accommodate even more chefs and improving the overall experience for its customers. Not to worry for those who eagerly want to try it out, as they will still be accepting bookings at: plato.ph/beta while they work on a new and improved platform.

Chef Markus Elegino on the other hand will continue to host dinners on the Plato PH platform, alongside managing his own restaurant and his teaching job at ENDERUN International Culinary Institute as a Pastry Chef Instructor Professor.
