Super Mario theme park to open in Japan!

Heads up, guys: there’s a Super Mario theme park that’s set to open in Japan!

The first Super Mario theme park will be called Super Nintendo World. Executives from Nintendo and Universal made the announcement, confirming that Super Nintendo World’s signature ride would be based not on Super Mario, but Mario Kart.

Slashfilm.com reports that the ride would be powered by the “world’s most advanced tech”.

“Previously patent documents showed a ride vehicle built for two riders that is constructed to simulate a “drifting” effect. One rider would have control over the steering and speed of the vehicle while the other rider could provide the vehicle with various boosts and hinder other vehicles.”

Universal Studios said that they’re opening the first Super Mario theme park earlier this year, with the rest of the park done by 2020, just in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
