Sunnies Cafe: The Most Instagram-Worthy Brunch Spot in the Metro

Since its grand opening, photos of Sunnies Cafe have been popping up all over our Instagram feeds. We’ve undoubtedly already scrolled through many photos of the cafe’s LA themed interior and the various appetizing dishes that it has to offer.

On a rainy Friday afternoon, Mel, Jayrene and I braved our way to Bonifacio Global City in order to see what everyone has been talking about. Upon entering the cafe, your eyes will be greeted by a large white neon sign that reads Sunnies Cafe.

Every corner of the cafe is Instagram-worthy. From its pastel color palette, the beautiful wood wall lined with plants and even the succulents and marble cutlery holder placed on each and every table around the cafe. You could take a picture in any part of Sunnies Cafe and you’re guaranteed to get a lot of likes.

We then decided to put most of the the cafe’s bestsellers to the all important taste test.

Note: The bestsellers are indicated by the heart beside the menu item 🙂

From right to left: Baked Squid Ink Lasagna, KimYe Milkshake, Crispy Tacos, Iced Coconut Milk Latte, Pan-seared Miso Salmon and Sunnies Risotto. Not in the picture: Regina George cocktail and Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie.

Although we absolutely loved every dish, we had three unanimous favourites:

The Crispy Tacos

Sunnies Cafe

Homemade parmesan taco shells, carne asada and a quail egg on top – what’s not to love? These tacos were absolutely mouth-watering! We were so tempted to order more! Undoubtedly the #1 taco on my list.

The Pan-seared Miso Salmon

Paired with amazing garlic brown rice and a simple salad. The salmon itself also does not disappoint, seared to perfection and seasoned well. It’s skin was seared until it was crunchy- superb for munching.

Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie

Sunnies Cafe

Definitely not your typical Banana Cream Pie! For starters, the crust was made out of crushed Oreos instead of the usual graham cracker crumbs. Sunnies Cafe’s version is also surprisingly light despite its creamy and rich banana filling. It made for the perfect dessert to top off our meal.

Bonus: Try the Regina George cocktail! It starts off sweet and ends with a real punch from the rum- just like the Queen B herself.

This new cafe in town is serving up both delicious food and A+ Instagram aesthetics. These two elements combined are what make Sunnies Cafe the best spot to brunch with your girlfriends on the weekends (or on a weekday when you play hooky from work or school!)
