This time around, teams were hungrier than ever to conquer the defending champions, Sunken Pleasure. It was proven the first day as they went against Lasallian Ultimate and Team Cebu, who gave the quick and cunning players of SP a difficult time.
A classic underdog story also took place as Lasallian Ultimate, who was seeded 16th, went against last year’s 1st runner-up and this year’s 2nd seed, Extreme, in a nerve-wrecking game where La Salle was down by a huge margin against the crazy daredevils of Extreme, only to catch up towards the end and win the universal point. It perhaps marks as one, if not the most, monumental thing to happen in Philippine Ultimate history.
