Project Liwanag PH and Liga Artist Group invite you to Sulo: A Benefit Music and Arts Festival for the Aetas of Capas, Tarlac. Help us achieve our dreams of giving light to our indigenous brothers and sisters while listening to and appreciating some of the best art our local scene has to offer. In partnership with Tala: Mental Wellness, this event also aims to help create a community wherein the conversation on mental health will be rooted in a culture of empathy, a philosophy of interconnectedness, and a reminder that human dignity is fundamental in it.
Meaning torch or light in the native Aeta tongue, “Sulo” is a music fest that seeks to raise funds for the solar electrification of Sitio Taliktik, an Aeta village housing almost 200 individuals. We hope to be able to give them access to clean and renewable energy through the installation of a communal solar PV system by September of this year. We hope to be able to work with you all to help us empower the indigenous.
Head over to FRANK & DEAN and Ocean’s Telephone Company on July 28, 2018 from 2 pm onwards to join our community and share in the light, music, and art that we have to offer.
“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” – Roy T. Bennett
