Sugar Mercado, who is part of the cast of Wowowin, recently spoke up about the rumors linking her to the show’s host, Willie Revillame.
She told Pep.ph, “Hindi ko ma-imagine na natsitsismis sa kanya. Para ko nang tatay iyon, para siyang tatay sa lahat, kuya siya ng lahat. So, mao-open mo sa kanya lahat, tsaka sobrang bait niya.”
[“I can’t imagine people gossiping about him. He’s like my father. He’s like everyone’s father or older brother. You can open up to him about anything because he’s so kind.”]
She added, “Ako, kahit anong mangyari sa future or what, ipagdadasal ko siya lagi, araw-araw, na humaba pa yung buhay niya dahil sobrang ang dami pa niyang matutulungan na taong salat sa buhay tsaka gusto ng pag-asa.”
[“Whatever happens in the future or what, I will always pray for him every day, that he lives a long life because he can still help a lot of people struggling in life and who want hope.”]
Sugar also had something to say about Willie’s love life. According to her, “Pagpe-pray natin iyan, siguro in time, may mga nakikilala… nami-meet naman siya siguro, hindi ko naman alam, e.”
[“We’ll pray that maybe in time. Maybe he meets people, I don’t know.”]
“Alam mo, wish naman nating lahat sa kanya, dahil sobrang buti ng puso niya, e, may isang taong magmamahal sa kanya nang totoo at mag-aalaga sa kanya in the future. Iyon lang iyung prayers ko sa kanya, at sana tayo ring lahat.“
[“You know, everyone’s wish for him, because his heart is so kind, is that there will be a person who will love him and take care of him in the future. That’s my only prayer for him and I hope everyone feels the same way.”]
Her message to the people spreading these rumors? “Ihinto ninyo na iyan, kasi hindi talaga totoo. Mahal nating lahat si Kuya Wil kaya ipag-pray natin na tumagal pa yung show niya at yung buhay niya.“
[“Stop that because it isn’t true. We all love Kuya Wil so let’s pray that his show continues to air and that he lives a longer life.”]
