Successful #Y4TH2021, See You Next Year!

The Youth for Tourism and Hospitality International Conference 2021 (#Y4TH2021) was successfully held last October 16 and 23, 2021, via Zoom and Facebook Live. The Conference was attended by over 760 delegates from 64 universities in the Philippines and Japan. It bannered the theme “#TourismRestart: Inclusive, Sustainable and Responsible” and featured topics identified by industry leaders as essential for post-pandemic tourism recovery.

Apart from the plenary session, there were Cross-Cultural Workshops, in partnership with Matsumoto University and Matsusho Junior College, which aimed to promote exchanging ideas and experiences in the Philippines and Japan on specialized or niche topics in tourism. There were also inter-school competitions that showcased students’ knowledge and skills as they produced outputs that will be helpful to the development of tourism in our partner local government units, Province of Batanes and Province of Quirino, and the advancement of tourism as an academic discipline.

The Youth for Tourism and Hospitality International Conference was organized by the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism Association of Alumni and UP AIT student-volunteers, spearheaded by Dr. Maricel Gatchalian-Badilla as its Conference Convenor.
