Something interesting you said? Here’s some side-trip and some interesting people. Would you mind. I got to talk with Rey. Rey Purawan is a 3rd year Journalism student from Bicol University. He told me some stories on how he got the news about the media congress, how he paid for his own, slept in a relative’s house and travel hours from Bicol to Manila (and vice versa) to attend. He learned a lot and got inspired he said, I’m just excited for his future. Rey was the only one from their school that made it. High five for Rey.

Oh, one thing more. I’ve met a group from the Visayas, Bacolod to be specific. They were from the University of Saint La Salle (USLS). The school sent 11 delegates: 2 from the Communication Department/Center for External Relations, 4 from La Salle Yearbook and 5 from The Spectrum. In contrast with Rey, their University sponsored some if not all of their expenses. It’s quite a small world I guess, since am from same province and speak same (native) language. Hope they will tour me around when am back their. I mean tour and guide me around, yes NOT BULLY me. Highlight that. Take note of that. Smile. Thanks in advance.

When in Manila, have some after-party. There’s this so much talk on the advent of Social and Digital that is sweeping the media Industry recently. That, what is Social and Digital is continually getting its large share of influence from the ‘Traditional Media’ (print, radio, TV). After the congress commenced, each media organizations/players gave their respective features. InterAksyon of TV5 says ‘content is still king’, yes BUT PLATFORM is QUEEN. Rappler says ‘getting ready for change’, yes BUT John Nery of Inquirer cries foul with Confirmation bias. So what’s your take? How powerful is Social, Digital, Media in your world? Another round of after-party?
