When In Manila, who do you think should be our next president? Netizens fill their social media networks with support for Duterte and despise for Binay. However, posting on Facebook won’t really allow the masses to hear you. Hence, Jim Paredes thought of taking it up a notch.
At 3pm today (June 10, 2015), aย group of artists, led by musician Jim Paredes will have a protest in hopes of stopping current Vice President Jejomar Binay from running for president in 2016. According to Paredes, the protest will give citizens the chance to express their themselves.ย โWe want to express ourselves, express our alarm and our disgust with the behavior of the vice president. He wants to be the president and yet he doesn’t want to obey summons from the Senate,” Paredes said in reference to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committeeโs investigation on anomalous projects allegedly linked to the Binay family.
The walk will start at Makati Freedom Park, near the Makati Fire Station and end at the Ninoy Aquino statue.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Paredes shares the following statement. โI donโt think he deserves to be president. He doesnโt deserve to be a candidate for anything.” He also shares that the protest has nothing to do with the president and that he is not a spokesman of any political party.ย
So, are you joining this afternoon’s walk? It’s time to make your voices heard and walk the talk.
