START YOUR ENGINES: “Drag Race” is Going to Have a Dutch Version and it’s Coming Soon!

Drag Race Holland

2020 is a good year to be a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race. From February to May, fans were treated to the 12th season of the show. While that was happening, there was the mini-series RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, where previous contestants gave stars drag transformations. In June, we got All-Stars 5, which sees the return of selected queens to compete for a slot at the Drag Race Hall of Fame. And while AS5 was going on, RuPaul introduced the first Canada’s Drag Race, co-judged by Brooke Lynn Hytes from  Drag Race‘s season 11. It’s still ongoing.

Now, there’s going to be another search for the next drag superstar as there’s going to be Drag Race Holland.

Watch the announcement below:

According to World of Wonder, which produces the Emmy-winning franchise, Fred van Leer is set to host the Dutch edition. van Leer is a celebrity stylist and former Holland’s Next Top Model mentor and judge. Drag Race Holland will premiere on September 18.

Of course, the most exciting part about any run of Drag Race is the queens, and we’re looking forward to seeing if there are any Filipinos. Some notable Filipinos who competed are Ongina (season 1, AS5), Manila Luzon (season 3, AS1, AS4), Phi Phi O’Hara (season 4, AS2), Jiggly Caliente (season 4), Vivienne Pinay (season 5), and Rock M.

Sakura (season 12). In Drag Race Thailand, JAJA competed in season 1 while Mocha Diva was in season 2. In the ongoing Canada’s Drag Race, Kyne is also a contestant.
